Z - BOYS
In LA in 1970 a drought across California forced the draining of all private pools.
The Z-BOYS, a team of skaters, decided to break in to private backyards to ride their empty pools.
One day during a skating session in a pool nicknamed "the Dogbowl", Tony Alva took his board airborne and then twisted to land back in the pool.
Aerial skateboarding was born. The Z-BOYS moves remain the basis for the type of aerial skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing still popular today.
